Every one of my cyanotypes starts with a real plant, collected and pressed by me. Whenever possible, I collect plants ethically—that is, from fallen leaves, "dead heading" of flowers, or from prunings & cuttings at the end of a plant's growing season. I also dry my botanicals so that I'm able to reuse them in multiple designs.
